Members of the Midland Gliding Club first flew from the Long Mynd in 1934. It is not only one of the longest established gliding clubs in the UK but also one of Britain's prime gliding sites.
Prehistoric Bronze Age stone circle 85 feet in diameter, consisting originally of some 30 stones of which 15 are now visible.
The Corbet family replaced their fortified home with a stone castle in about 1239. This was extended in 1538, and again in the 1580's with a great Elizabethan wing, now itself a spectacular ruin.
