This idyllic rural hideaway is a unique Stable and Hay Barn conversion, one mile from the village of Richard's Castle and only three miles south of Ludlow town centre, well-known as Shropshire's gastronomic capital.
A retreat for all seasons, you can enjoy 4-star self catering with original solid pine beams, wood burning stove and stunning panoramic views. The accommodation stands at the end of a leafy private drive within it's own secluded gardens, ideally situated for exploring Shropshire, Herefordshire and the Welsh Borders. There are National Trust and English Heritage places nearby, with historic market towns like Shrewsbury or Hereford and the World Heritage Site of Ironbridge all good for a day out.
Whether you are a walker, cyclist, foodie or book lover, or simply just want to get away from it all, The Barn is the place to be.
Short breaks are available as well as weekly stays.
Should you need it, we are only a stone's throw away to offer friendly advice on making the most of your stay.
Around 7 o'clock in the evening, we were looking out of the window when a stag and a doe appeared on the top of the hill. Silhouetted against the clear evening sky you could see the stag's antlers especially well. What a beautiful sight! It was the first time we'd seen them and we were enchanted. Sad to leave but leaving means we are coming back.

We are so pleased to have discovered The Barn - it looked and sounded perfect, in reality it has fully lived up to, in fact beyond, our expectations. Such a quaint and pretty place, it has been quite a dilema between relaxing and enjoying The Barn or exploring this equally lovely surrounding area. Superb accommodation in a wonderful location. Great to do Tai Chi on the grass every morning with just birdsong for company and two bemused sheep!
